Just A Small Town Girl…

2018… well what can I say?

It’s the end of a chapter, time to call it a day.

But first let’s reflect on the year that’s gone by,

The poignant moments that made us collectively rejoice/scream, “Why oh why?!”

Brexit updates and France taking home the World Cup,

Dominated much of the tabloids, as well as Meghan Markle’s come up!

Brett Kavanaugh, the Thai cave rescue and the Philip Green scandal shock,

And of course, Blank Panther (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you must live under a rock!)

Additionally, we each had our own share of ups and downs,

Sometimes we wore smiles, other times we donned frowns.

One of my best friends got married, another announced that she’s a Mummy to be,

And I finally mastered the art of contouring and highlighting… woohoo, yay me!

Ok no, I did manage to get an awesome new job in the big smoke,

Where I’ve befriended some gems, who are like-minded and woke.

I took up meal prepping and Pilates and love life-wise think I’ve finally figured out what I’m looking for,

And it’s definitely not to settle, hell no, no more!

This year I’m going to be Sharan 2.0, that’s my ambition,

To smash my professional and personal lives, is this Small Town Girl’s 2019 mission!
