Talking to a friend yesturday I realised something, while it’s no secret that I’m stubborn, I’m also teachable: walking-talking oxymoron at your service π
Yes I’m an opinionated person, but whenever someone with a contrasting viewpoint takes the time to sit down and have a discussion with me Iβm all ears, genuinely! Because believe it or not I actually enjoy being proven wrong (partially because itβs just such a rare occurrence…I joke, I joke). But seriously,Β whenever someone brings to light a golden nugget of information that I may not have previously considered/been aware of, it shakes me up a bit. It makes me question myself and the opinion that I hold and I love that because being so cocksure all the time can get boring!
I guess that’s why I love debates, they get my juices flowing and open my eyes just that little bit more. And they make me realise that I donβt have all the answers (as much as I may try to assure myself and those around me that I do!). At the end of the day Iβm just a 22 year old small town girl and I still have a lot to learn about the world. And while I may come across as being overly headstrong at times, Iβm more than happy to take a step back and be the student when I need to be and absorb new information like a sponge, because thatβs the point of life isnβt it? Progressing and learning? So hopefully I’m on the right track. π
You’re on the right track if you always believe there’s more to learn, because there is.
Absolutely, we’re always learning! Thanks for stopping by π
i’m told
it takes more
than one
lifetime
to learn
even half of it π
That sounds about right! Thanks for your comment π
yeah indo the same :p
Glad you could relate Izza π

Being teachable means you are a good listener, and for me the world is a better place with listeners rather then not. You should champion yourself on that skill.
That’s very true, although I think it’s best to have a balance of playing the listener and the speaker, you need to get your own thoughts and opinions out there too!
Stepping back and listening is commendable but only when the silence is not the wait for the counter punch! Well written π
Haha very true! Thanks for your comment Roopesh π
It is actually a very rare thing π it does take a lot of courage to give a person an opportunity to question you . You are absolutely on the right track π
As hard as it may be sometimes to drop your pride, it’s got to be done in order to become a well-rounded and knowledgeable person I guess! Thanks for stopping by Charitha π
You are on the right track. Don’t we all learn in this beautiful journey called life?!
I’d like to think that we do Vishal and that we’re always growing as people π
Yep, that’s it – none of us have all the answers
Thanks for your comment Mallee, I appreciate it π
This post explains why you “Liked” my Quote of the Day on March 9th π You may be a “Small Town Girl” (lucky you!), but you’re definitely not small minded. Wisdom begins with knowing that we don’t know it all. I sense that you are one who is wise beyond your years. Wishing you a lovely and expansive day ~ Lisa
Aww thanks for your lovely comment Lisa, I really appreciate it π and keep up the great quotes!
You definitely are on the right track! It’s great to keep an open mind…
Open-mindedness is the way forward π
Yup
always wanting to have exchange of opinion. space to share my view, and space to hear their view and their support/sources. Even if i don’t get convinced I am grateful to be made aware of differing opinions and so be more questioning of my own beliefs.
You sound just like me! I’m glad that you could relate to the post π
