Just A Small Town Girl…

Sorry seems to be the hardest word,

Throughout my life that is what I’ve heard.

But for me, another word trumps all, and that is goodbye,

When the time comes to say it, you’re guaranteed to see me cry.

Because all of the smiles and good times fly into my head,

Filling me with sorrow and a flash of dread.

Of the past, I am certain, but the future is unknown,

The people I am leaving have helped me to grow.

So how do I say goodbye to them in the right way?

When they’ve been a huge part of my life for three years, what can I say?

Because this can’t be the end, I’m not prepared…

To part from these people, losing contact is what makes me scared.

Even though I know that we all have separate paths,

I just hope that we don’t grow up too fast!

From the bottom of my heart I hope that we’ll be close forever,

And that our paths will always lead us back together.
